Gunpowder, Treason and Plot

on BBC Two England

3/3. Jimmy McGovern's historical series draws to its climax with an epic story set in the time of James VI of Scotland (James I of England). The paranoid king has his financial demands rejected by Parliament and reneges on his policy of tolerance towards Catholics. In 1605 a group of devout Catholics including Guy Fawkes hatches a murderous plot.
