Jazz: Swinging with Change

As the Depression ends and America faces the threat of war, a new way of playing jazz - fast, intricate and chaotic- is introduced by the likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. Then, as that threat becomes a reality, big band music forms part of the arsenal, boosting morale at home and abroad.
