The cream of British sport gathered recently at the Queen Elizabeth n Conference Centre,
Westminster, to celebrate the sporting year of 1988. In Seoul, there were gold medals; Celtic achieved the 'double' but Liverpool were upset by Wimbledon in the FA Cup.
There's action, too, from other great sporting occasions of the year:
Ballesteros's comeback at the Open, Steffi Graf and Stefan Edberg at Wimbledon, the Grand National, Grand Prix and the Test matches against the West Indies.
The climax is the presentation to the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year.
