Gregory Peck made his film debut in this fateful Second World War story in which Nina, a Russian dancer stranded behind Nazi lines, is rescued by a band of Russian freedom fighters. A deep affection grows between Nina and the guerrilla leader and she plays her part in their fight against the Nazis.
