The Water of Irwell

on BBC Television

View in Radio Times

A film for television.
The River Irwell, 'the hardest-worked river in the world', flows through the heart of Lancashire, from the bare western slopes of the Pennines to Manchester, where it becomes part of the docks and the Ship Canal. This film is an impression of the changing landscape it passes through, and the people who live and work along its banks.
Written, directed, and produced in the North of England by Stanley Williamson
(First shown last January)
