In the Shadow of the Falcon Narrated by Derek Jones
The peregrine falcon is one of the world's most spectacular birds of prey. It is also one of the rarest, yet in the wild places of Britain it still holds its own.
This story is about the handful of wardens - men like ROY DENNIS of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds - who watch over rare, specially protected birds.
Through Roy Dennis 's eyes we share his anxieties as he watches over a pair of peregrines at a remote glen in the Central Highlands of Scotland. For the first time we are able to watch the private life of these falcons at their cliff-face Site as they feed and rear their young.
But always in the background there is man - with his guns, traps, poisons and blind, unthinking talent for destruction.
