in Manchester Cathedral by The Rt. Rev. W. D. L. Greer, Bishop of Manchester.
Nearly every Bishop in the country will be in his cathedral this morning to ordain men to the priesthood. The men presented will have come from very different backgrounds. Most will be young, each offering his whole life, others will have already done another job. All will have gone through many years of preparation, and for each of them this morning will be an important climax. The Church will give them authority to celebrate her sacraments, to teach the Faith, to care for her people. But what happens this morning will also be important for all the people to whom they will minister in the future.
In presenting this broadcast we shall try to help viewers to enter fully into the inner meaning of what is happening as the Bishop of Manchester and some of his senior clergy lay hands on those being ordained. P.H.
