A series of six 30-minute interviews by Ludovic Kennedy with people whose lives have changed suddenly and dramatically. 3: Buzz Aldrin
When COLONEL EDWIN ALDRIN walked on the moon in 1969 it was the culmination of a life strewn with achievements: top honours at West Point, glory as a fighter pilot in Korea and a doctorate from MIT. But after the moon landing his life was tormented by depression and chronic anxiety. He lost his career, was divorced twice, and became an alcoholic. He talks to LUDOVIC KENNEDY about the reason for the disintegration of his life, and his struggle to re-build it.
