Spring at New Barn Farm
Gerry Symons is a professional dairy farmer with 75 acres in Devon, a herd of Friesians and computer print-outs to tell him how he's doing. That spring it was very badly. Like many other farmers, he had the perplexing experience of working a 16-hour day for next to nothing while through the years the value of the land under his feet soared to the level of a small fortune.
