They say that Mary Ann Cotton murdered more people than anyone else in Britain, yet she is little-known outside her native County Durham.
In the second of three weekly programmes David Mahlowe tells the story of her trial at Durham Assizes, and discusses some of the legal issues raised with Bernard Smythe , Senior Lecturer in Law at Durham Univerity.
