Georgia, 1971: when Willcox "Buddy" Hillyer returns to his childhood home, the visit precipitates memories of his adolescence and of Rose, who came to work for the Hillyer family in the 1930s, and through her enthusiastic yet innocent sexuality managed to create havoc for everyone around her.
