Hearts of Gold

on BBC One London

More stories about Britain's unsung heroes and heroines. Tonight's programme includes the story of pensioner Patrick Dalzel-Job who, as a British naval officer during the Second World War, saved thousands of lives when he disobeyed military orders and risked his life evacuating the Norwegian town of Narvik, just hours before it was bombed by the German Luftwaffe. Other awards go to Abbie Wilson , who risked her life to rescue drowningteenagers in rough seas off the Cornish coast; and Bernadette Cleary , whose charity The Rainbow Trust provides hospice care for terminally ill children. Presented by Esther Rantzen and Carol Smillie , who this week are joined by television hypnotist Paul McKenna. Producer Mark Hill ; Series producer
Nick Vaughan-Barratt
