Racism - the Fourth R

on BBC Two England

An Open Door programme made by the All London Teachers Against Racism and Fascism.
' Racism doesn't stop at the school gate,' claim ALTARF. ' Children as young as ten have been involved with extreme right-wing racist groups, pupils are racially abused by their peers and even by their teachers. Many schools perpetuate the racism that children experience on the street and in the job queue.
' Schools have a choice. They can ignore the issue of racism, and thus connive in it, or can commit themselves to struggling against it. It's a challenge but in our film we show that parents, teachers and, above all, pupils are able to fight racism in schools.' ,
