Jack Nicklaus, the US Master golfer and the US Open Champion, failed by only one shot to win the British Open title at Muirfield in July. How costly that shot will have proved if Jack Nicklaus, in his quest for the Grand Slam, wins this PGA Championship, the last of the world's four major golfing events.
