Bradman's wrangle with the Board of Control reaches stalemate, Jardine's MCC team arrives in Australia. His plan to curb Bradman - the 'leg theory' attack - remains a mystery to all but the obedient professionals, and Larwood in particular. The
'gentleman' players and team manager 'Plum' Warner are unprepared for its unveiling, and what begins as one man's calculated method to win the Ashes at all costs is turned by anger into the rancorous issue of 'bodyline'.
