The search is on for Britain's top amateur choir. Across the country 12,500 people are taking part in the competition, which reaches the quarter-final stage this afternoon with 16 adult and 16 youth choirs, from chamber to gospel, singing a wide range of music from the Beach Boys to Purcell.
