Ingmar Bergman's erotic comedy starring Gunnar Bjornstrand, Eva Dahlbeck
Fredrik Egerman, a successful lawyer, has an inhibited teenage bride. When an old flame, the actress Desiree Armfeldt, comes to town, Fredrik decides to see her. But their reunion is marred by the untimely entrance of Count Malcolm, Desire's lover.
Winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes in 1955, the film was the inspiration for Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music and Woody Allen's A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy.
