Living with the Neighbours

on BBC Two England

On the eve of the French Presidential Election, reporter David Jessel looks at the lives of four people from the British Isles who have made their homes in Giscard's France. One is ah English rugby international, now running a bar and a successful French rugby club; another a Welsh graduate, building nuclear power stations and enjoying the status given to civil engineers in France; the third a former BBC Foreign Correspondent, recently settled in Normandy, who sees the effect French education is having on his children; and the last, a woman teacher from Belfast, working in the ' Red Belt' of the Paris suburbs, disenchanted enough with the whole system to have become a Communist herself.
