John Wills studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music under Egon Petri and later came to London to work with Frank Merrick. He has specialised in accompanying, and has appeared with such celebrities as Elena Gerhardt , John Coates , Casals, and Thibaud. From 192; until 1935, when he joined the BBC's staff of accompanists, he was a professor at the Royal Manchester College of Music.
