Parsons in the Plague

on BBC Two England

The Plague of 1665 silenced London. The only traffic was the death-cart, the only street cry 'Bring out your dead.' A quarter of the population fled, a quarter died.
Of the few who stayed in town all through the disaster, two were parsons. They wrote down their experiences, and this film is made from their records.
