Theatre lovers should consider setting the video for these two extraordinary programmes from the BBC's schools output.
Shakespeare Shorts takes scenes from the Bard's most popular plays and teams them with familiar TV faces - starting with a chunk of Romeo and Juliet with EastEnder Mona Hammond as the wily nurse. Future episodes feature Nigel Planer as Twelfth Night's Malvolio and Brookside's Anna Friel as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Death of a Salesman is an English File serialisation of Arthur Miller's greatest play, bringing Warren Mitchell back to his favourite role, Willy Loman. Among the supporting cast are Pam Ferris, Juliet Aubrey and lain Glen. The whole thing can be seen in one go in the autumn.
Andrew Duncan talks to Arthur Miller in three weeks' time.
