Interlude
2.5 Round the Countryside
' The Story of the Cuckoo'
C. C. GADDUM
Listeners are to hear about the cuckoo-some of the facts about it and some of the fallacies. Mr. Gaddum will discuss the laying of the eggs in other birds' nests, and say what has been learned about it from photography. He will describe the early life of the young cuckoo and the curious events that take place in the unfortunate foster-parent's nest. Teachers might with advantage have an illustration of a cuckoo to show their classes.

The story of the play leading up to the scenes will be told to listeners before the scenes are acted, and Carleton Hobbs will again give his fine rendering of Shylock, which he broadcast to schools the summer before last.
