Michael Berkeley 's guest is leading South American writer Mario Vargas Llosa. He has written critical studies of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Flaubert, Sartre and Camus, and novels such as The War at the End of the World, Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter, The Notebooks of Don Rigobertoand his latest, The Feast of the Goat. In 1990 he ran for the presidency of Peru. His musical passions include Don Giovanni , Mahler's Resurrection symphony, Sibelius's Violin Concerto and Stravinsky's Firebird. Repeated tomorrow 3pm
