Six films with John Pitman 5: Steve Davis
At 23, STEVE davis, the World Snooker Champion, has realised his boyhood ambition of finding fame from the sport he loves. He plays for the glory not the money. But now that television has turned the top boys into superstars, he's already on the way to becoming snooker's first millionaire. Davis has been groomed and packaged by an astute manager, Barry Hearn - known in the business as Barry 'Earn because ' we never do anything cheap for Steve Davis. ' Hearn has come in for some criticism. ' People say I'm overworking him. Maybe it would be like that for a normal player, but not Steve because he's not normal. He's totally dedicated to the job and we're having so much fun we're frightened to go to sleep in case we miss something.'
