Here's a little tip for parents, free of charge. Prepare for urgent requests for Tracy Island for Christmas because this is bound to be a magical hit. Gerry Anderson's 1967 masterpiece about International Rescue has been digitally enhanced so there is clarity of detail and the colours scintillate as never before. Jeff Tracy and his brood of Scott, Alan, John, Gordon and Virgil, along with Brains, Kyrano and Tintin and, of course, Lady Penelope and Parker are all on brand spanking new form. The first episode (apparently Anderson's own favourite) has the atomic-powered aeroplane Fireflash (with Tintin on board) sabotaged by IR's arch enemy, the evil Hood. Adults will thrill at seeing their childhood favourite again and will enjoy the anachronisms such as the polite American voice telling passengers they can smoke if they wish. And you can't even see the strings. Well, not unless you look closely. (FL)
