The Human Conspiracy

on BBC Two England

The lifelong interaction in which humans make humans - shaping one another's behaviour for good or ill. In this major report, leading scientists around the world offer surprising new insights into our everyday lives.
Written by NIGEL CALDER
Introduced by Caroline Medawar with occasional assistance from Ron Moody and SIMON COADY , JONATHAN BURN
STEPHANIE FAYERMAN , PAULA TINKER Research on behaviour begins to converge on a clearer picture of human virtues and vices. Exploring the richness of human life involves many different skills - to understand, for instance, how each person's genetic and cultural inheritance react together. A new interpretation of evolution emphasises human capacities for altruism and co-operation. But the benign conspiracy has sinister undertones -for the loyalty and comradeship that sustain each person and his society may also lead to conflict between groups.
