A film of the life and times of Michelangelo.

Michelangelo, now famous, has Pope Leo X as his patron. When the Emperor Charles V invades Italy he is commissioned to plan the defence of Florence.
The film ends with a brief sketch of Michelangelo's private life and his relationship with the beautiful Vittoria Colonna and his death in 1564.
