Dirk Bogarde in Doctor in the House

on BBC Two England

Continuing a season of films starring one of Britain's most accomplished screen actors. Today also starring Muriel Pavlow, Kenneth More
Dirk Bogarde plays Simon Sparrow, a young medical student who, with three high-spirited companions, faces five energetic, hard-working but often hilarious years at St Swithins, under the eye of the irascible Sir Lancelot Spratt.
This famous comedy was the first of Bogarde's four appearances as Sparrow, and the one in which Spratt asks the immortal question, 'What's the bleeding time?'.
