Perpetual Motion: The Milk Float

on BBC Two England

Last programme in the re-run of the series that pays tribute to vehicles which have defied extinction.

Every morning some 20,000 milk floats are seen on Britain's roads. But are they a victim of their own success? Built like tanks to carry heavy batteries, they don't wear out. New ones are rarely built, and only one of the original manufacturers survives.
