In the final episode of the series, we meet the Tates, a well-known local family from Redcar. The youngest of the family, Billy, is about to make a tough decision - does he start a career at 16 or go to college? Against his dad Andy's wishes, Billy decides the world of work and the chance to earn money is a far better option.
Fourteen-year-old Lil' Kev doesn't like school, he doesn't see the point but would do the work if they paid him. He is enjoying being free for the summer holidays and makes money by collecting and selling scrap metal. His parents want more for him though and are trying to keep him focused. As the summer holidays draw to a close, Lil' Kev must come to terms with the start of another school year - unpaid!
Amber, 20, has already got herself a career - she works as a healthcare assistant at the local hospital but has just been kicked out by her mum after the bailiffs came knocking to collect a debt she had run up. She is now homeless and living out of her car.
Activist Jade, 19, is trying to win over hearts and minds in Redcar. She is a bit of a Boris Johnson fan and, having previously campaigned in the town for Brexit, with the general election looming she is now knocking on doors trying to convince the town to vote Conservative. But as the campaign unfolds, Jade is about to realise there is more to life than politics and she needs to focus on her own life and what will really make her happy. With no job or opportunities locally, she must make the tough decision whether or not to leave Redcar. Show less
