Pip and Ruth visit an open-sided milking parlour for research. Pip is enthusiastic but Ruth's got lots of questions. Ruth's not sure Pip understands now that Pip is going to have a baby the bulk of the milking will come down to Ruth and David - but Pip won't be told, if Ruth could manage she can too. But she didn't manage alone, Ruth tells her, she had Jill and David helping her, Pip in many ways is on her own, Jill's nearing ninety and Ruth and David will be busy on the farm. The realities of having a baby sink in and Pip understands that things are going to be very different from now on.
The day of the BL vote and Justin and Annabelle think the writings on the wall but Brian hasn't seemed to notice. He says his piece, the board listen and then ask him to step out of the room whilst they make their decision. Fortunately, for Brian it's a stay of execution - he'll continue as Chair of BL.
Later, Annabelle takes Justin aside she's unsure why he was so determined to keep Brian as Chair? It's not because Brian is Justin's brother-in-law, he's too business minded for that, so why she asks him. Justin tells her it never hurts to have someone in your debt. Show less
