Ore Oduba presents live coverage of the 2017 Great Manchester Run.
Conceived as a Manchester Commonwealth Games legacy event in 2003, the Great Manchester Run is now the nation's favourite 10k road race, with over 300,000 runners having taken part since its inception.
This year, close to 30,000 entrants and tens of thousands of spectators are here to see an expectedly tight elite men's race with a field including former marathon world record holder Wilson Kipsang of Kenya, who won 2017's Tokyo Marathon, and Callum Hawkins, who recently set a new Scottish record over half-marathon distance.
A top-class women's line-up is also expected, with the British challenge led by former European cross-country champion Gemma Steel.
As always, the stories of those behind the elite athletes is as compelling as the race itself and we hear some of the wide-ranging reasons behind their participation.
A new half-marathon race sees close to 10,000 taking to the streets ahead of the 10k.
Denise Lewis and JJ Chalmers report from the course, while Paula Radcliffe joins Steve Cram in the commentary box to provide expert analysis and views on the men's and women's races. Show less
