Series 1

Episode 1

Duration: 58 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two ScotlandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two Northern Ireland

Ten strangers, all at a crossroads in life, embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Taking over the running of an agriturismo farm in Tuscany boasting a vineyard, olive groves and B&B, they have six weeks to try to turn their Tuscan dreams into reality.

Settling into La Banditaccia in the foothills of Mount Amiata, the group meet owner and local farmer Maurizio. After a tour around the estate to view the vineyards and olive groves, they start to understand the enormity of the scale of what they have taken on. As well as getting to know each other, the group of singles must adjust to communal living and get to grips with life on the farm. Learning to keep the wild boar at bay, they tackle their first merlot grape harvest with mixed results. They also breathe new life into the farm and buy their first livestock.

The group must integrate with the locals, trying out their basic Italian, and throw themselves into the trials of rural Tuscan living, with all the challenges that brings. Show less
