Cambridge hold the historical edge, with 61 wins to 59, but Oxford have dominated recent encounters. Even the presence of Wales centre Jamie Roberts could not prevent Cambridge from suffering a sixth successive defeat when the sides met in 2015, with the Dark Blues eventually running out 12-6 winners. The Varsity game has helped launch many players' careers, including the likes of Simon Halliday, Phil de Glanville and Gareth Davies, who all appeared for Oxford, and ex-Cambridge duo Rob Andrew and Gavin Hastings.
