Episode 1: Sport Relief Part 1

Duration: 3 hours

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Wales

7.00pm - 8.30pm:

Gary Lineker and David Walliams kick off the biggest Sport Relief night ever live from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, packed with appearances from the best sport and entertainment talent in the UK. Sporting encounter Clash of the Titans returns as two celebrity teams, captained by cricketing hero Freddie Flintoff MBE and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave, go head to head in five events across the night. David Walliams returns with his anarchic Little Britain character Emily Howard alongside former England striker Peter Crouch, comedian Mickey Flanagan and the England women's football team 'The Lionesses'. The first Clash of the Titans event is the men's cycling elimination race and it features the captains themselves: Dan Snow, Mark Wright, Harry Judd and Hugh Dennis. Comedian Jo Brand receives a hero's welcome and shares the unique experience of her 'Hell of a Walk'. We meet some of the biggest names in British sport, who are helping behind the scenes on this star-studded night. EastEnders star Lacey Turner joins the line-up to reveal more about her character Stacey's recent experiences, while in Clash of the Titans the action moves to the Aquatics Centre for the synchronised swimming, with Russell Kane taking on Will Young.

8.30pm - 10.00pm:

Sport Relief legends John Bishop, Davina McCall and Claudia Winkleman take over the presenting duties. The excitement builds towards one of the most hotly anticipated events of the night: Michael Crawford back in a beret as Frank Spencer returns to the BBC after nearly 40 years for more calamitous events on the track with Sir Bradley Wiggins. The hosts are joined by Eddie Izzard live from South Africa as he attempts to finish his 27 marathons in 27 days. We relive the best moments from the smash hit that was The Great Sport Relief Comic Relief Bake Off, and we see detective heavyweight John Luther as you've never seen him before, alongside a star-studded cast including Lenny Henry, Rio Ferdinand, David Haye, Denise Lewis, Louis Smith, Ruth Wilson and Ian Wright. Then there is more from the lords of lycra in Clash of the Titans as they take on rhythmic gymnastics. Music comes from singer-songwriter Birdy, who gives an exclusive live performance of her track Wings, and Brit Award-winning James Bay joins us for the first of two special tracks, including the Sport Relief single Running.
