Junior MasterChef is back for 2014 to find the best young cook in the country. From thousands of applicants, 24 passionate cooks between the ages of eight and 12 are bidding to become the next champion.
Four cooks must win over judges John Torode and Donal Skehan to earn a semi-final place. Their first challenge is to create their ultimate sweet and savoury pancakes from a range of mystery ingredients in just 50 minutes. The contestants are given three trays of different ingredients to choose from. One for the batter mix, one for savoury ingredients and one for the sweet ingredients. First John and Donal go head to head to show viewers at home their version of the perfect pancakes. Then it's the turn of the young gastronomes - will the contestants be able to show creativity, imagination and flair?
Then the four contestants have one hour to cook their own favourites in an attempt to impress, which include a trio of scallops, a lamb biryani and a strawberry and chocolate tiramisu. The judges have a deliciously difficult decision ahead. Show less
