In the summer, a dedicated group of West Indians put on a musical play, In Transit, at the Commonwealth Institute in London. It was part of a black theatre workshop project-the first of its kind in Britain.
In Transit sets out to show some of the history, everyday life and attitudes of West Indians living in this country.
This film follows the company through the workshop period to the opening of the play. In the words of Don Kinch , the author of In Transit, the group explores ' not just the situation we as black people are all involved in now, but how we feel about it.'
