This is the final week for the Cartwrights, Griffiths and Phillips and the heat is on. Washing coal black pit clothes, baking and cleaning has taken over the lives of the women and their campaign for pithead baths reaches fever pitch. And across the valley the exhausted men struggle to save their pit and their jobs.
