Episode 6

Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two ScotlandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two England

Comedy. Award-winning radio phone-in host Gary Bellamy tries to pin down exactly what it means to be British.

What do we believe in in modern Britain, if anything? To try to find out, the award-winning Gary Bellamy visits a festival for alternative beliefs in Kidderminster and talks to a dream interpreter, a woman who has set up a church for animals, and members of the cult of Tarvu the Holy Octopus. Gary also bumps into his fan club who have decided that Gary himself is God.

Elsewhere, Chris 'Nibbsy' Nibbs maintains that not even the feminists really believe that God is a woman and Ian Craig-Oldman recounts a tale of surviving a plane crash in the Andes by eating three nuns and a priest. Show less
