Golf: Women's Open

2009

Day 2

Duration: 4 hours

First broadcast: on BBC Two ScotlandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two England

Hazel Irvine introduces continued coverage of the 33rd Women's British Open from Royal Lytham and St Annes.

American Cristie Kerr shot the best round of the second day in 2008 with a fine round of 65, three shots better than any other player. Swirling winds made conditions tricky, but Asian duo Yuri Fudoh of Japan and Jiyai Shin of South Korea improved their scores to share the lead at halfway, both ten-under-par. The biggest cheer of the day was left for 2003 winner Annika Sorenstam, who made the cut by shooting par for the second successive day. Show less
