The chefs putting their own money and reputations on the line are John Burton-Race, Nick Nairn, Gino D'Acampo, Aldo Zilli, James Tanner, Paul Rankin, Ed Baines, Atul Kochhar, Richard Phillips and Galton Blackiston.

Ed Baines and Galton Blackiston go back to the classroom, taking over a canteen at the Royal Holloway University. With a roomful of hungry students to feed, our chefs must provide gourmet meals at budget prices. They must each prepare one meat or fish dish, one vegetarian dish and one dessert.
