Long Way Round

Episode 4

Duration: 59 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two EnglandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two Scotland

Documentary showing the preparation and planning of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's famous motorbike journey. At the border of Kazakhstan Ewan and Charley are met by a welcoming committee, but soon have to battle uneven roads and constant police escorts. Despite this, their visit to a UNICEF project is a great success. However, Ewan is in the wars again. First his foreheads starts to swell in reaction to a bug bite, and then he gets petrol in his eyes again. In need of pampering, Ewan and Charley go to a traditional Kazakh spa before enjoying a final night in Kazakhstan in the company of local singers.

Next up is Mongolia. Rejoicing in the tarmac roads that carry them all the way to Barnaul, Charley is amazed that they have driven half way around the continent on their bikes. Their joy is short-lived, though, when they find a major detour is required as the river they have encountered is not crossable by bike. Show less
