Wild Down Under

Episode 3: Southern Seas

Duration: 50 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two HDLatest broadcast: on BBC Two England

The seas down under stretch from the dazzling tropics to the wild, southern ocean and are full of surprises. Mermaids and dragons glide through the blue, bizarre fish 'walk' along the bottom and on tropical beaches, crabs and seagulls engage in a tug-of-war for food. Even the sea lions are weird.

Australia's seas also feature many awe-inspiring spectacles: whales and sharks attacking giant shoals of fish, surfing dolphins and the ballet of giant cuttlefish. The Great Barrier Reef is just the beginning of a breathtaking journey around the dramatic coastline of Australia and New Zealand, revealing seas that are amongst the most bizarre and spectacular on Earth.
