During the first years of World War II the de HaviIIand Mosquito was the fastest operational aircraft in the world, faster even than the Spitnre and the Messerschmitt. Yet the design had been rejected by the British Air Ministry.
The Mosquito eventually took part in some of the most famous operations of the war. but few memories now remain of this highly successful aircraft.
With the help of some of those who knew the Mosquito, including Leonard Cheshire, vc, and 'Cats Eyes' Cunningham.this programme traces the strange story of the plane they called the ' Wooden Wonder'.
