Hetty King, with her robust male impersonations, was ever a popular top of the bill, and it is England's loss that in recent years she has appeared so seldom in this country. She is already planning another world tour, though she returned only recently from South Africa.
Edgar Sawyer joined Murray Ashford's concert party at Scarborough in 1928, and that was the start of their double act. They appeared together at the Spa Theatre, Scarborough, for six years, and show regularly every winter in London and all over the country.
Gaby Valle has been a member of the British National Opera Company, and last autumn created the title role in the Cornish opera lernin, which had a big reception in Penzance and then at the Lyceum, London. She has broadcast from every station in the country.
Among other acts to be heard tonight are Warner and Darnell, who have won increasing popularity in the year they have been together; James Pickard, who was in the film Dance
Band; and Horace Kenney, of ' The Trial Turn ' and Arcadians fame, who must be the most lugubrious comedian alive.
