Real Mallorca are surprise finalists afterbeating defending champions Chelsea in the last round with a 1-0 victory in Palma proving enough to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory. Under Argentine coach Hfector Raul
Cuper, the club have become a topten side in Spain's premier league. But Lazio may arrive in Birmingham with more than winning the cup on their minds. They have led the way for much of Italy's Serie A season and face one final, possibly make-or-break, league game against Parma on Sunday.
