One hundred years ago Vincent Van Gogh worked in a London art gallery, taught in Isleworth, and preached in non-conformist chapels in Turnham Green and Petersham. This month the Victoria and Albert Museum celebrates the great Dutchman's years in England. In this film Edwin Mullins describes the English influences on Van Gogh, and explores the England that he knew.

Thom Gunn, poet-hero of the British beat generation, now lives in San Francisco. 2nd House filmed him reading from his latest collection, Moly, in the Californian landscape which inspires his poetry.
