Chronicle: The Lost Ship of Kyrenia

on BBC Two England

In 1965 Andreas Cariolou located a huge pile of amphoras lying on the sea-bed off the coast of Cyprus. These wine jars were the cargo of a long-lost merchant ship. After years of meticulous work by specialists from 12 countries, that ship, the oldest sea-going ship in the world, now stands on display, together with its cargo, in the hall of Kyrenia Castle.

"The ship is the star of the film". (The Times)
