Starring Richard Widmark, Marilyn Monroe
with Anne Bancroft
Nell, recently discharged from a mental hospital, accepts a baby-sitting job in a New York hotel. During the course of the evening she loses control and suffers from the most violent fantasies.
Marilyn Monroe's cliff-hanging performance as Nell won her a prescient listing as one of the Motion Picture Herald's Stars for Tomorrow - a prophecy that was immediately fulfilled with "Niagara", "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "How to Marry a Millionaire".
