The Lincoln Center of New York commissioned a new short play from Frank D. Gilroy. The theme of the play was then given to a composer and a choreographer, to be transformed into an opera and a ballet. The television programme presents all three works.
with introductions by William Schumann, President of the Lincoln Center.
